New depth to Water Wars game

A new optional feature introduced on Innovative Leisure's Water Wars water balloon game is reported to be proving a big success at installations around the world, including the first one to be added to an existing unit at a UK amusement park.

Water Wars involves players launching water filled balloons towards an opposing battle station with the aim being to land the balloons on the roof of the station to burst, spraying the contents on the players below.

With the new Depth Charge option incorporated, if a balloon lands on a target on top of the station, it triggers a sensor which sends a signal to a water trough in front of the station and sets off the Depth Charge, firing a huge spray of water up in the air and soaking players in the process. A siren and flashing lights are also activated.

Depth Charge is available on new installations or as an upgrade kit for existing attractions.

The first operator in the UK to add Depth Charge to Water Wars was Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea, which originally installed the game for the 2006 season and added the new feature for 2007.

Water Wars is one of a range of interactive family attractions offered by Innovative Leisure. Several different models are now available, including outdoor and indoor versions, along with a junior version which features a reduced length between the player stations and a reduced height compared to the standard models. Mobile versions are also available.
